Are you interested in studying abroad next year in Africa, Asia, - TopicsExpress

Are you interested in studying abroad next year in Africa, Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, or the Middle East? Do you want to advance your foreign language skills? Next Wednesday (11/13) at 3pm, a representative from the nationally competitive Boren Awards for International Study will present to students about the Boren Scholarship and Fellowship! This event is organized as part of URIs International Education Week. The Boren is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in studying abroad to advance their foreign language skills in an area of the world underrepresented in study abroad and critical to U.S. interests (including areas of Africa, Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East) in exchange for commitment to seek 1 year+ employment in the federal government. The scholarship gives preference to applicants studying one of the programs emphasized languages (borenawards.org/languages.html). Maximum scholarship awards are $20,000 for a full academic year, $10,000 for a semester, and $8,000 for a summer program (special initiative for STEM students only; 8 weeks minimum). Visit the facebook event to learn more and let us know if you plan to attend:
