Are you wondering why there are hundreds of bags full of trash and recyclable items scattered throughout the park right now? Its because of the hundreds of awesome volunteers and dozens of stream team leaders that took part in Rock Creek Conservancys Extreme Clean-Up this morning. These commendable volunteers removed over 10 tons of trash from the Rock Creek watershed as part of the Alice Ferguson Foundations 26th Annual Potomac Watershed Clean-Up. Park maintenance staff will make the rounds Monday morning and remove the bags. Thank you to all volunteers, stream team leaders, and Rock Creek Conservancy staff, especially Volunteer Coordinator Karen Zeiter, for making this years clean-up a resounding success.
