[Area Officer] Position: Area Officer | Location: Gaza City | Responsible to: Project Manager | Closing date: 6th of January 2015 THE ORGANIZATION Handicap International is an international organization. Since its creation, the organization has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations THE JOB Under the direct supervision and responsibility of the Project Manager, the Area Officer will be responsible for the implementation of Emergency intervention for the most vulnerable women, men, children affected by the Gaza crisis project in Gaza Strip. The Job holder will be in charge of day to day supervision and support to the partner’s Disability Support Center (DVFP) in Gaza Strip. -In charge of the overall support, field coaching and follow up to the partners’ DVFP team activities and services, the DVFP team is composed of (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, referral network coordinators, nurses, and the DVFP officer). -In charge of reporting to the project manager on bi-weekly basis on DVFP activities and services in full respect to HI and partners reporting and monitoring tools. -In charge of updating and maintaining the DVFP beneficiaries’ data base, extracting information and management of information for referrals support purposes. The Job holder tasks include the following: -Project Implementation -Reporting, HR and Coordination -Database THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE -Must have a bachelor degree in rehabilitation field, business administration, and/or other related field. -At least 3 years experience in similar positions with international NGOs preferable. -Must have a strong practical knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, outlooketc). -Must have strong organizational skills; possess diplomatic, strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Should be aware to the needs of vulnerable groups. -Excellent knowledge in English language (written and spoken), Initial contract will be for a period of 2 months and the position is based in Gaza Strip.
