Arguably, Christianitys biggest ideological contribution to capitalism has been its lack of ancestor worship conventions. With the deceased safely ensconced in their respective afterlife containers, we among the living are free to spend embarrassingly long hours trying milk ontological satisfaction from the teat of incredibly stupid shit, free from the oppressive judgment of dead relatives high on whatever it is that makes the old and dead seem so damn wise. Can you imagine trying to use Pinterest with your great, great, great Grandmother behind you? Why the hell would you waste a perfectly good Mason jar on that? God, oh most noble and beloved ancestor, you do not understand the craft. Oh, I get it, alright. You want to go to the grocery store where you could buy actual jars filled with actual jam cheaper than you can buy the empty mason jars. But thats fine because you want to glue some tissue paper to it--which you will have to go to a craft store to get, costing you mileage. And knowing you, youll forget the special glue you need, so youll have to go back. And then when this sits on your table for a few months, youll grow sick of it and throw it away because you cant use it now! Oh, no, it has tissue paper on it!
