Arguably the most popular song in The Seldom Scene’s vast repertoire is “Wait a Minute.” The story goes that founding member (and physician) John Starling was in Los Angeles attending a medical conference and went to hear Herb Pedersen play at a club. Herb liked the Seldom Scene’s newest recording, Act III, and gave John a tape with his new songs “Wait a Minute” and “Old Train” (both appeared on their 1974 album Old Train).
