Arklow 1 Clover 2 A brilliant win this evening to put us into the quarter final of Intermediate. Arklow had the better start and took the lead after 10 mins with a good solo goal from their centre forward. We got into the game soon after and started to pressurise their goal with their keeper making a few good saves. On 43rd min Carl Wynne continued his great goalscoring run in the cup by finishing brilliantly from a pin point pass from Darren OGrady. Second half began with both teams cancelling each other out but we started to take control of the game on the hour mark. A wonderful goal on 75 min mark from Carl Wynne again won it on the night. Carl took a pass from David Vickery and with his right foot struck ball into top corner giving their keeper no chance. Arklow did launch a few long balls and crosses into the box in last few but we defended brilliantly especially the likes of Glenn Walsh and Brian Cullen winning very important headers.
