Armed OSD have surrounded the SLPP Office in Makeni. The area has been cordoned off, and the atmosphere is very tense. The National Chairman and Leader of the party, Chief Kapen is currently meeting with the Chinese Ambassador. It is now clear that the APC government is almost goading the SLPP into a confrontation by these persistent and provocative searches and arrests. As the situation continues to develop, we call on all SLPP members to use whatever leverage they may have to alert our development partners everwhere about what is clearly at attempt by the APC government to undermine the peace and stability that the nation now enjoys.
