Army Commanders of 10 countries meet in Jordan to discuss a possible operation in Syria.. A closed-door meeting of the Army commanders of 10 Arab, European and U.S. countries began in the Jordanian capital Amman on Sunday evening to discuss a scenario of a military strike against strategic targets of the Syrian regime. The meeting includes, according to Jordanian military source who requested anonymity, army commanders of the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Italy, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, in addition to Jordan The military source said, "The meeting discusses the scenarios to hit the sites of the Syrian regime, and considers the expected reaction of Iran (an ally of the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria) on the strike". He added that Jordan expressed deep concern of the possibility to be targeted by Syria and Iran in case of making sure of using the territory of the Kingdom by Western forces." The source added that the meeting probably will also discuss scenarios to eliminate on Islamist extremists fighters belonging to al-Qaeda in Syria, if the military strike against the Syrian regime succeeded.
