Army foils infiltration bid, four militants killed in Keran sector SRINAGAR, OCTOMBER 05: The Indian Army on Saturday foiled a major infiltration bid along the LoC in Keran sector of Kashmir, as the operation against the infiltrating ultras in the area entered the 12th day. Four militants were killed this morning and six AK 47 rifles, 4 pistols and other warlike ammunitions have been recovered from the militants. "An infiltration bid was foiled in Fateh Gali area of Keran sector, 25 kms west from Shalbhati village. Four militants have been killed in the operation," a Defence Spokesman said. The incident has been reported from the same sector where the Army has been battling more than 30 militants for 12 days. Yesterday, Indian Army chief General Bikram Singh had dismissed the suggestion that a Kargil-like situation has developed in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. "It is nothing like that. It was an infiltration attempt by 30 to 40 militants," he said when asked whether a Kargil-like situation has developed in Keran sector. The Army Chief had also made it clear that the terrorists have not occupied any Indian village along the Line of Control. Intermittent exchange of fire between ultras and troops was going on in the sector where the operation against the infiltrating militants entered the 12th day on Saturday. A group of heavily-armed militants had tried to infiltrate into Kashmir through Keran sector on September 24 but were intercepted by the Army. #pathan
