Army porter injured in grenade blast at Keran sector Srinagar, July 26: An army porter was injured after suspected infiltrators hurled a rifle grenade at him in Keran sector of line of control (LoC) in Kupwara district. Ashiq Lone, the porter working with army’s 23 Grenadiers was moving near the Balbir Post in Keran sector on Friday evening when suspected intruders believed to be 5-6 in numbers lobbed a rifle grenade towards him, official sources said on Saturday. Lone suffered splinter injuries in the blast and was immediately shifted to army’s Drugmulla hospital where his condition is said to be stable. Following the incident, 23 Grenadier assisted by other army units launched a massive search operation along the LoC to track down the suspected militants, who’re trying to infiltrate into the Valley. A senior army official said that the army porter was injured after Pakistan rangers fired a rifle grenade towards this side of the LoC.
