Arrangements have been concluded by the Plateau State Government for Governor Jonah Jang to move into the newly built, N9 billion-worth government house by September 5, even as the government Lodge at Jitshe has been converted to the palace and office of Jos traditional ruler, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Gyang Buba. Speaking with newsmen shortly after a meeting with the State Executive Council, the State Commissioner of Information, Olivia Dazyam said the movement to the new government house became necessary because the old lodge was initially built to serve as presidential lodge and was inadequate for government operations. She said that the movement to the new government house was approved after due deliberations at the State Council meeting, following a memo submitted to the council that the new Government House is nearing completion and ready for occupation. The commissioner said that the initial cost of the new government house was moved from over N4 billion to over N9.6 billion to take care of additional works. She said added that the old palace would become a museum where every local government area in the state would be adequately
