Arriving @Wills Eye Hospital @ 11:30 for a 12:30 surgery, then waiting for the actual surgery to begin @ 5:15 was a bit trying. Hearing the screams of terror from an autistic teenage girl (almost an hour non-stop) previous to my surgery beginning, was quite a nerve-rattling experience as well. The surgery went well and was performed in twilight anesthesia. I got to hear the confident discourse of 2 competent Drs. discussing pros and cons of different approaches to resolutions of multiple types of complications(none of which occurred during my procedure). Post op was swift. Follow up today was encouragingly good. Keep my head down, sleep on my right side, follow up on Friday. II was amazed that I could discern shapes and colors today, no details (all a blur). The gas bubble causes major greying of all straight ahead vision and the edges off the bubble have a bright white ring. Modern science is both baffling and impressively astounding . No pain, very minor discomfort when in sunlight too long. Not staying on computer long ,just wanted to thank everyone for the good thoughts and .....let the Reiki begin !.......HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL SOON !!!
