Arsenal Still Want Iheanacho – Agent -As PAOK Of Greece Join Chase By Sam O’Femi Fasetire sam.fasetire@sportsdayonline In spite of startling information that the father of FIFA U-17 World Cup most valuable player, Kelechi Iheanacho has slapped a princely transfer price of N200m on the kid, one of the agents involved in unfolding talks over his possible move overseas, Henry Galeano says Arsenal of England are still interested in the youngster. SportsDay gathered on authority that Galeano is not getting dissuaded by reports of Pa Iheanacho’s apparent moves to cash in on his son’s sudden surge to fame or by emerging stories that several other agents are also entwined in contract tussles for the lad, but insists the likelihood of the player making a move to Arsenal is for real. Speculation about the next port of call for the Taye Football Academy of Imo State starlet has reached a crescendo, after he took the Cadet World Cup by storm and ended it as MVP and second highest goals scorer, following his six goals and seven assists in seven appearances at UAE 2013. Dramatically, another chapter opened in the Iheanacho saga when PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece entered the race to hook the youngster’s signature and are reportedly plotting a move for the attacking midfielder in the January transfer window. PAOK have already instructed an agent, Christos Savvidis, to secure Iheanacho’s signature and he plans to start negotiations with Galeano, who is an associate of an American players’ agency, First Eleven Management. Despite all hue and cry over the youngster, though, Galeano has now told the IBTimes that Arsenal made the first move for the lad and believes they are bound to snatch him ahead of all other suitors, considering that The Gunners’ interest is still waxing strong. I can confirm that Arsenal FCs Steve Rowley, acknowledged Kelechi Iheanachos talents early in the World Cup and has said some very nice words about him. Were ecstatic to have another major club like Arsenal following young Iheanacho. That said, the attention is well deserved. Iheanachos performance at the World Cup was indeed remarkable. If Arsenal F.C. is an option on the table, well be glad to sit down and consider it. Iheanacho wouldnt be the first Nigerian making it into the team, Galeano stated.
