Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with what would be a surprising for former Manchester City star Mario Balotelli and could get him on the cheap. According to the Daily Mail, Balotelli could be made available for a knockdown price of £12million his club AC Milan run out of patience with his bad boy image, with Arsene Wenger and his Liverpool counterpart Brendan Rodgers said to be keen on him. Balotelli moved to the Serie A club from Manchester City in the January transfer window last season after then manager Roberto Mancini eventually gave up on trying to get him to fall into line at the then Premier League champions. Arsenal are short in the centre-forward position after injuries to Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott and Yaya Sanogo left Olivier Giroud as the only senior striker left fit - Nicklas Bendtner has returned to the squad but it was after not making an appearance for the Gunners in nearly two years. Rodgers looks to have put together a formidable partnership in the form of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, but does not have many options other than the pair and Balotelli would be a significant addition to a team that the Liverpool boss insists have serious top four ambitions. Balotelli has been in good goalscoring form since his move to San Siro but the report claims he has had a number of bust ups behind the scenes and the Rossoneri are ready to offload him. Arsenal and Liverpool would normally not be keen on recruiting such a disruptive influence, but the report says the low price of just £12million could tempt them. (Give Me Sport)
