Arsenal should not sign Wayne Rooney according to club legend Arsenal’s legendary former skipper Tony Adams has declared that he doesn’t think that his club should sign mercurial England striker Wayne Rooney despite the player’s obvious talents because he doesn’t think Rooney has the temperament to cut it in a city like London. Rooney has been on the wish list of a number of top clubs all over Europe after having a fall out with former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and is set for showdown talks with his success David Moyes next week. Rooney is currently being chased by Real Madrid, Paris St. Germain and the London duo of Chelsea and Arsenal, however, Adams had a warning to issue his former club. The club legend told TalkSPORT, ‘I’m not sure Wayne Rooney could handle London, to be completely honest. That would be a massive risk for me. I don’t think it’s a question of finances. I think it’s his temperament and mentality. London is a different animal. I think it takes a different type of player [to handle it].’ Adams also questioned whether his former Manager Arsene Wenger would be the right man to tame the beast. Adams said, ‘I know Sir Alex Ferguson has dealt with Wayne brilliantly over the last few years and I’m sure Arsene could handle him, but I’m not sure. I wouldn’t like to spend my money on Wayne.’
