Art Activism is more powerful then a gun. Im serious. Do you know what our leaders fear? Not terrorism. Paintings. But they like paintings too. They do not negotiate with terrorists. They will never hear a terrorist ever but they will eat dinner with Artists. I have eaten dinner with every level of gov. For many different reasons exept the Prime Ministers office but they did acknowledge my stuff and the cause in writing . We artists break bread with everyone. Art rings out louder then rocks. It has been so all through art history and it is still true now. Mother Theresa would not go to anti war protests. You dont protest for peace. You peace for peace. I will not get arrested for a cause. I am louder in my power suit from value village and a camera or canvass then in jail to save a tree. Cut the tree I will scream out in art and plant 10 more trees. People in every country will hear me. Folk songs if you really want to get their attention. Film. If we really want our leaders to listen we can sing, paint, take pictures, research, make documentaries, dance shine. Write poetry. Read. If we want to get real serious we can start planting heirloom seeds in buckets on balconies if need be and make community gardens and shop at farmers markets. Gardens are an art. Make lots of art they will notice. I never seen politicians look as scared as they do they first time I whip a camera out and start taking photos. Hi Im documenting this. Write , witness.
