ArtStarts in Schools a great project for teens for the summer. This summer, teens aged 14-18 are invited to apply to be part of YoungStarters: a free arts mentorship program all about creativity, collaboration and community. YoungStarters aims to utilize art as a vehicle to empower young people’s creativities while providing them with lasting, relevant skills and experiences. Fifteen YoungStarters will be selected to develop their own arts based community project in collaboration with a mentor. It might be a public art piece, a song, a play, a publication, an event — the possibilities are endless! The deadline to apply is July 17, 2013. The program will run July 27 to August 31, 2013. artstarts/youngstarters
