Article reposted/replaced due to some amendments - proposed: The ultimate aim of Marriage Heritage page on the Facebook is to help our readers to see Jesus Christ and the glory of his grace manifested in and through the cross. Marriage, when it is rightly understood and rightly lived to the glory of God and the good of man, is the mirror of eternal redemption. When a man betroths a woman, marries her, loves her (as lover do to his beloved), appreciates her, protects her, impresses and admires her (as Christ do to His Church), the mystery of the kingdom of God is thus revealed. It is for this reason the apostle Paul calls it profound mystery. He says to the saints in Ephesians 5:31-32, Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the Church. In the light of biblical teaching about marriage we see motive too high to comprehend and aspiration too holy to adopt. No doubt, the biblical marriage between a husband and a wife is designed to portrays biblical covenant between Christ and His Church - as I have pointed it out in my former article. Christs life is the light that shines brightly in the minds and hearts of His sheep, Gods chosen people, to resurrect His elect from death to life, revive His sheep from slumber to great awakening and strengthen His people from weak faith to joy unspeakable and full of glory. If we fail to see and understand this in the light of the message of the cross, we will not able to comprehend the need for full-blooded gospel-engagement and the universal declaration of world mission. Failure to grasp this, we will not able to see the forceful reason behind Gods great commission. The apostle Paul was commanded to take note of the important of the great commission that brings the light of the gospel of the glory of God which shines through the face of Christ when he is fully preached and wholly presented. In Acts 18:9-10 the Bible is telling us what had happened to the Apostle Paul and what must be noted to missionaries worldwide. The Bible says, And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people. The Apostle Paul has affirmed another incident related to the same great light in Acts 26:12:18 when he says, In this connection I journeyed to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads. And I said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles-to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Marriage couples (husbands and wives) who do not have this light and grasp this message of the cross, to sustain them in their marriage covenant, are still blinded by the god of this age, as the Paul put it in 2 Corinthians 4:3-7 where he says, And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded their minds, as unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus sake. For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
