Artist Interview Chad Krystals 1. What interested me in joining the MusArt Collective Online Art Gallery ? The thing was that Jon Drewes and I have worked on various creative collaborations since our days at Farleigh Dickinson University. The gallery was a good outlet to display not only my artistic drawings, but also the music that I’ve been working on and performing on a regular basis here on the West coast. 2. Do music and art go together? All the time. The art is the visual, the music is the audio. Creativity manifests through both forms of expression. It’s hard to devote time to both, because both include a lot of practice. I’m lucky to have the gift of creativity. I’m thankful for art and music, with out it my life wouldn’t be nearly as fascinating. 3. Why did I choose the song “Superfly (West Fresh)” for the artwork display? Simple. Ronnie Roberts aka (KeePA GreeN LeeF) and I collaborated on the piece displayed and have been collaborating on art and music in Phoenix since 2008. Ronnie is very creative with not only his graphic art knowledge, but is the only person I know who can use a talk box correctly and bang out a great vibe with it. “Superfly” I feel not only is a very relaxing tune, it has one of my more unique flows to it & I worked hard on it along with the video we shot for it.
