#ArtistOfTheWeek #Sia #1000FormsOfFear - yesterday, Sia released the music video for her new single, Elastic Heart, which for me was a stand out track on her outstanding new album. The video features the truly talented dancer Maddie Ziegler, who also appeared in Chandelier and a surprise appearance by Shia LaBeouf -on first viewing the video, I was unsure of the story being told - clearly a struggle of some sort - power? love? two inner-selves? - but I was taken aback by the handful of negative comments this video has been greeted with, which today has lead Sia to issue the following statement: I anticipated some ‘pedophelia!!!’ Cries for this video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play these two warring ‘sia’ self states. I apologize to those who feel triggered by Elastic Heart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody. My heart does grow heavy when artists are forced to apologise for their work due to social bullying and those with narrow and self-perverted minds. This video and the artists involved with it have nothing to apologise for in any shape or form.
