Arts and Entertainment in Downtown Canal Fulton:Underground Railroad Canal Boat Cruise Update The historic St. Helena III Canal Boat is the setting for the 2013 Underground Railroad Canal Boat Cruise. The Underground Railroad traditionally refers to a multitude of routes to freedom taken by fugitive slaves. The cast and crew aboard the St. Helena III will take you back 160 years to that very time when slaves were put on canal boats to travel north to Canada and Freedom from their owners. You are a part of this historic trip. You are an abolitionist. You may be a sympathizer because you resent the power granted to the South in the U.S. Constitution. Join us July 18th at 6:30pm aboard the St. Helena III for a Historic Cruise to Freedom. (The July 17th cruise date has been cancelled due to unforeseeable circumstances.) The canal boat is pulled by two Percheron horses and departs from the Port of Canal Fulton in St. Helena Heritage Park (125 Tuscarawas St.) traveling along the historic Ohio & Erie Canal. A limited number of $19 tickets are available and reservations arerequired.
