She is an architect by training, but hasnt worked as an architect since she was 20. In her twenties and thirties, she lived in Venice, where she attended university and worked as a graphic designer and as a freelance tableware designer for several Italian companies. For a short period of time, she also worked as a fashion designer in Milano, interrupting her studies briefly. She has studied and worked in several foreign cities (New York City, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, and in Guatemala). In 2003, she moved to a city in the north of Italy, where she teaches at a public school.
