These counts are mandated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and they are conducted yearly on a single night in January, to assess how many individuals are living on the streets on a given night. The Night Ministry is one of 9 organizations in Chicago that partners with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services to conduct the street count in Chicago!
