As Franklin Foulks was processing a teen charged with probation - TopicsExpress

As Franklin Foulks was processing a teen charged with probation violation for criminal mischief and burglary, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department officer suddenly fell from his chair and, writhing on the floor, grabbed at his chest. The handcuffed teen, 17-year-old Jamal Rutledge, quickly stood up and banged at the door of the security fence, yelling for help, reports the Sun-Sentinel. Within seconds, three officers were performing CPR and using an automated external defibrillator to restore Foulks heart rhythm. Broward Health Medical staff noted that Rutledges actions and the quick response of these officers were largely responsible for Officer Foulks surviving this medical episode, the department said in a statement about the September incident. It will officially honor Jamal and the three intervening officers at a Fort Lauderdale City Commission meeting next Wednesday.
