As Horry County School District moves toward the 1:1 implementation of providing a touch tablet (iPad) for each middle school student beginning in January, HCS has realized they must also think of change in the operation of library media center to a Learning Commons design. The district webpage for Student Learning Commons will be rolled out in mid-August. Even though continued design is underway, they are excited to have a page designed by students for the students to access print and digital resources organized by six cluster groups: reading, research, create-share-design, online virtual learning, test preparation and recommended APPS.
