As I approach the start of my 58th year tomorrow, there are too - TopicsExpress

As I approach the start of my 58th year tomorrow, there are too many who I now have to live past their passing, while it is still days, weeks, months and years of adjusting to their absences, and yet the onset of their ongoing presences too. Its coming up to 40 years since my brother Jock and I set out on an epic experiment of a coach trip across southern, western and central Australia that had been organised by our high school It became a cathartic adventure at that addled essence of juvenile time when I was questioning my own identity and purpose, being increasingly unhappy with being typecast as an awkward, bookwormholier-than-thou, ectomorphic, naive and aimless character who was supposed to become another academic. Ive largely explored and gravitated into the eccentric, maverick, impulsive, often singular and sometimes misguided and selfish life I follow, yet overall Ive encountered great people from all over the world.and made wonderful friends wherever I have roamed. I havent yet ventured overseas but I have travelled all over the world through the people Ive met everywhere from everywhere. Danksta Downunder, who is still only 8 years old, still keeps me diverted from growing up. With much gratitude for your empathy, friendship, love, insight, humour and company. May there be plenty more music and poetry to set life ablaze.
