As I begin to think about all of you out there that I am thankful for I realize that I cant possibly get in touch with each and everyone of you. I also realize that I am probably going to miss out on the BIG prizes that this earth has to hand out. Most of us will miss out on lifes big prizes. The Pulitzer, The Nobel, Oscars, Tonys, Emmys. But were all eligible for lifes small pleasures. A pat on the back. A kiss behind the ear. A four pound bass. A full moon. An empty parking space. A crackling fire. A great meal. A glorious sunset. Hot soup. Cold beer. Dont fret about winning lifes grand awards. Enjoy its tiny delights. There are plenty for all of us. I also look back at all of those that are gone from this earth to another place. I certainly miss their company and would love to have one more conversation with them..... but that just isnt going to happen. You must cast your attention to the future and follow those that are just beginning their journey. I thank God for my grandkids and enjoy watching them on the path to stardom and fame. I recommend you to take care of the minutes, for the hours will take care of themselves. Life is make up of little things. It is very rare that an occasion is offered for doing a great deal at once. True greatness consists in being great in little things. Make it your goal for 2015 to overcome the problems that have hindered you in 2014. Find you someone that TRULY cares about you. Someone that would SACRIFICE their own desires to please ONLY YOU. Remember the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; tis dearness only that gives everything its value. Do not withdraw from society and hide from the crowd. Change THE SELF WORTH in YOUR mind and quit accepting only parts and pieces of the offering that some one tries to hand you. ASK FOR IT ALL. And if ALL IS NOT AVAILABLE THEN WALK AWAY. The fact that you would accept only part of the deal is evidence that you are not thinking properly about YOURSELF. Become your own hero, we are all plain people, and dont know how far we can go. Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but in really the great make you feel that you, too, can become great. We cant do anything about those that have left us so suddenly. We can only work within ourself until we leave this wonderful earth. The saddest tragedy of life is a heart that has not caught fire or one that has been extinguished. The mind of such a person is like a huge field into which no seed has been sown. Nothing of worth is growing. This person will not produce greatness, miracles or an uncommon life. Come on good people..... put the hardships aside and make a plan to restart that engine of excitement and cheer. DONT LET ANYONE PUT YOU DOWN....... AND FOR SURE QUIT PITTING YOURSELF DOWN. Merry Christmas to you all and look forward to another year of magic, fun and excitement. I just love this old world!!!
