As I drove into work this morning, the sun was doing some unique things to the clouds and the sky, and I felt thankful that I could see the change as well as that I was given another day. It reminded me of a prayer I read by an American Chaplain, Commander Theodore Edwards Jr which is found in his book Refuge and Strength. I share it with you as a prayer for this morning: Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me safely into this new day. Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do, direct me to the fulfilling of your purposes; through Jesus Christy our Lord and saviour.
