As I go through everything in my condo in preparation for my move to a new pad (more on that next week), I have come to some realizations. To wit: 1. I have way too much “stuff”. Which is why I’m purging a lot of it. Purging is good for the soul. It creates the space for what’s new. 2. I will never have to buy another pen or mechanical pencil again for quite possibly the rest of my life. 3. For my new place, I’m working with an interior designer (I certainly never expected to ever utter THOSE words) because I don’t have a good sense of what actually goes together. 4. Despite having to deal with with 379 pounds of books (and those are just the ones I have here, never mind the ones I have in storage), I don’t regret buying any book, ever. 5. Because my new place has concrete slabs between floors, one thing I AM going to buy is a high powered music amplification system that will peel the paint off the walls.
