As I have been praying for my own broken relationships, and friendships, I have come to terms that we must often as woman spend today rethinking the details of our broken relationship- remembering who we think is to blame for what, thinking through timelines and events, most often even bring back the past grief and anger we’ve been holding onto for years, maybe even a lifetime. The one thing I know for certain it that in these trouble times, and even with all our unanswered questions we have the choice to turn into the direction of God, asking him to make us stronger than any broken relationship. When we choose to let God make us stronger than our broken relationships he changes the way we choose to respond to the person, the circumstances, and the hurt within us. Letting God into our broken relationships teaches us to respond in love just as he has done for us all. Seeing a broken relationship through the eyes of God help us to show love in the midst of pain, this helps us have the same mercy, the same forgiveness, and the same compassion God displays to us every day. We must ask God to soften our hearts toward our struggling relationships, insecurities, and wounds, knowing that hurt people, hurt people. We must all know that we must take responsibility for our actions, our words, our part, our blind spots, and the things that we too have done wrong. Acknowledging any and all bitterness in our hearts and deciding that those feelings will not determine our actions from here on out. We should let ourselves be open to “reconciliation” if it’s possible, lifting them up when they deserve your encouragement and you have the power to help. We must stop putting forth all our energy looking at the offense done to us, for if we let those feels go only then will we be able to change our heart towards that person. We have to be willing to seek a different ending, expecting nothing in return and hoping that everything will turn out for the best, choosing the love of God even if it’s returned with ungratefulness or selfishness! We must all say to ourselves” I am tired of coping. I am tired of talking about my hurts. I am tired of living broken. I want to be healed….”
