As I know Victoria is busy this morning, Id like to share *some* of her fun Colombian traditions for New Years Eve. Buckle up, because theres a LOT: 1. Wear yellow underwear... on the OUTSIDE of your clothes. This represents their country... not as easy to pull off in the states. Well, the underwear is... I mean it wont make sense to people here. Nevermind. 2. Have money in your hand. Like, cash money. This ensures wealth in the new year. 3. 12 grapes and 12 wishes. This is one that V and I have actually done since 2011. Each 12/31, we write down 12 wishes for the next year. Traditionally, you arent allowed to share them. I was able to get an amendment passed last year in which V and I are now allowed to share our wishes with each other a year later. For some of you, it will be most difficult to not tell your wishes. For others, it will be most difficult to not lose your list of wishes! At midnight, you eat the grapes quickly to ensure they come true. For example: My #12 from last year: Columbus Crew SC make the playoffs. BOOM! 4. At some point on New Years Eve, grab a suitcase and run around the block (assumedly wearing your yellow underwear, with cash in hand... see where this is going? Theres a reason its nicknamed Locombia!) This ensures that you will travel in the new year. 5. Play this song - https://youtube/watch?v=l2_uuh5u_68 Happy New Year!
