As I pass the 2 year mark of opening Happy Dogs Play and Stay, I’m reflecting on what an amazing journey this has been. 4 years ago, as a hobby, I started a business plan for the perfect business. I created a dog business that contained all aspects of the perfect place for my dogs. After 2 years of working on the plan in my spare time, it was complete! I was a Corporate Accounting Manager with a great company...I was in the prime of my career, but I just wasn’t happy. So, one day I made the decision to make the change from employee to employer. It was so very scary, but looking back, it was the best decision of my life. I have been through a lifetime of changes and hurdles just in two years, but I made it through it, and I’ve never been happier with my life. I want to thank every single customer who has trusted us with your babies. So many of you are not only my customers, you have become my friends. The dogs that come to us are truly loved and treated as if they were our own. It’s amazing to see the different personalities of the dogs. We love them all for different reasons (like you do your children;) I want to thank my amazing staff…current and prior!! Wow, how lucky I have been to have such an amazing group of people work with me. So many times after taking time off, the employees say how much they missed work (you don’t hear that very often in Corp life) My family and friends…no words can describe what your support has meant to me. Thank you!! And last but not least, I want to thank my great, personal friends at Rucker Horse and Pet, Sit Means Sit and The Humane Society of Forsyth County for all of their incredible support since the day we opened!! I can’t say enough great things about these companies both in how they are run and the friendship they’ve offered me over the past two years. I’m looking forward to our next 2 years and what this amazing life has to offer!! Thank you all!! ~Kelly
