As I prepare to leave home on Sunday for my 10 day pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Im flooded with a flurry of emotions. Grateful that I am able to go. More than excited, but also humbled to walk where Jesus walked (a dream of mine for so many years). Desiring to grow spiritually. Nervous about international travel (my first time). Happily curious about and interested in everything and everyone I will encounter half-way across the world. Anxious about terrorism. Confident in the expertise of our Israeli guide. Hoping to take what I need and nothing more--for lots of reasons. Above all...grateful. Thank you to my family and friends who have been part of my spiritual journey since my childhood, especially following my conversion to Catholicism in 1983, my religious studies at Loyola, and my many years as a Catholic school teacher. I am so blessed. Love.
