As I prepare to venture out on my bicycle this morning, dressed as I am in my profile photo, flying through the wind and the forty-five degree temperature with a windchill of twenty-seven, I speculate about the first big Buffalo snow storm of the season and wonder, just what I would be doing if up there right now. Running to work, jumping drifts and snowbanks. Then, when the streets get plowed just enough...biking. I promise you. In the meantime, I am moments away from fighting through the first four or five minutes of frigid air on my bare arms and legs, the wind flowing right through my thin shirt onto my chest, seeking the warmth that comes when my body works up the heat from a full sprint to the bridge, I then will be ensconced in an aura of comfortable body heat immune to the cold air for the next forty minutes or so. The adrenalin is already building.
