As I read more and more news today, I realize that with the low voter turn out among the youth and the lower income and under educated population, that a lot of these election results were people voting against the status quo. In other words, people figured that if the Democrats arent getting it done, I will just go the the other way. The problem here is that the full on Republican agenda isnt sound either. I hate being moderate....the next couple of years will see an attack on Social security....Medicare/Medicaid....womens issues like pay and tax cuts for corporations and the top 2% of earners out there. How did I arrive at this? Well...look at how in some areas, they voted out Dems, but voted in minimum wage increases and certain small tax hikes to cover infrastructure or schools....or how certain amendments were altered in certain areas to reflect a more liberal approach on any number of subjects. Far right or left is not the answer. Government is a huge combination lock....with the men and women of government playing the role of numbers on the dial and the tumblers in the lock. We have to educate ourselves and choose the right people, regardless of their political parties and hit that right combination to unlock things. This full blown Republican power deal will delay a play for term limits in Congress. Not that Democrats support it either....what we need is a new party. Who wants to start one with me? The party of Commonsense...I really do think we are living the transition from a great democracy to a fallen government turned to either socialism or some form of dictatorship or hevan forbid, a breaking up and divided country with multiple factions trying to compete for power. Who knows, maybe the south will rise again...hahah
