As I reflect about tomorrow, I am reminded that there are people, inside and outside our borders, that hate America. The reasons for that hatred have a broad range. Some hate us because we support free elections, rather than leaders from religious doctrine or because lineage decides who governs. Others hate us because we fundamentally embrace capitalism and free enterprise. Still others may cite ideological differences. Some would suggest examples of past American aggression, like unwarranted or unwanted American military action or economic exploitation. The list could go on and on. As for me, though I try to be objective in my thought, I wont apologize for our American example. And, I do wholeheartedly see us as the beacon of light on the hill. We are not perfect - never have been. Even so, I think we are the best thing going. I fully support Ronald Reagans belief that we wont tolerate Americans being harmed by haters and terrorists, anywhere! To me the best way we can honor those lost on September 11 is to remain vigilant, pray and support each other, and be The United States of America.
