As I reflect during my walk tonight...generations removed from the farm...the goal of an agriculture teacher in todays world is not solely production agriculture. My goal is to continue to educate students about the diversity of agriculture, the dependence of it, the role of it, and the respect producers deserve. I cant not change the fact that kids dont come from the farm like they use to...but I can prepare them for a possible career in agriculture. More important than that though is prepare them for life. Without agriculture life is just about impossible. So many want to complain about our younger generation...agriculture teachers try to make generations well rounded individuals no matter what year, generation, or background they come from.
