As I rush around to do last minute Christmas shopping, I can’t - TopicsExpress

As I rush around to do last minute Christmas shopping, I can’t help but to be sad. I’m sad because I can’t be the guinea pig and taste all of her baked goodies that were made, just to make sure they are suitable for everyone else to eat :-); sad because I miss the hysterical laughter and all of the “have mercy’s” as we got all tangled up in the Christmas tree lights that we struggled with to get on the tree just perfectly; sad because there are no more late night talks as we sat up and wrapped Christmas presents together, while we compared what we bought everyone and hoped they would like it; sad because she is no longer here to send me to my room while she filled my stocking with goodies to get on Christmas morning from “Santa”; sad because I won’t get to see the smile on her face when we get up Christmas morning to see what “Santa” brought each of us. Sad because I know this is one of my mom’s favorite holidays, where she got to spend it with her children and grandchildren, and even her extended family…something that meant so much to her. This year will definitely not be the same. And, although I love, love, love the rest of my family (and friends) that I will get to share my Christmas with this year, this year will still be “A Different Kind of Christmas”! I love you mama and miss you so much! Merry Christmas in Heaven!
