As I scroll through my newsfeed here, and on other sites, I read so many different comments and posts regarding the current border crisis. We have those in favor of housing the children....and those shouting send them back! Both viewpoints valid, in their own right. Yes, these are children. Little humans. They deserve to be treated with the same love and attention for which we would want our own children treated. But, yes, our country does not have the current resources to properly care for these children, for the duration of their lives. For those who do not understand the big deal. Part of the big picture is this. Now, forgive my numbers....as Im on my phone and am not going to switch back and forth for figures on a status only two of my friends will actually read lol but I digress.... Approximately 1.6 million school age children, enrolled in U.S. schools, are homeless. In addition, there are over 500,000 children in foster care, and approximately 300,000 orphans, in the U.S.; all American citizens. Meaning, not including the current illegal immigrants. Now let us really think about this, in the luxury of our own environment, for a minute. What does it take to raise a mentally and physically fit child? What do statistics say about the likelihood of success, for children living under the above stated conditions? What is our country doing to alleviate the state of living conditions for the current homeless children of this nation? How logical is it to believe that the children, who have now been left as orphans in a foreign country, are better off in a foreign world, surrounded by a foreign language, without anyone to properly love and care for them...than they would be, with their own parents.... regardless of their country of origin? Seriously....how? Is it not a parents obligation to stick around, regardless of circumstance...to ensure the safety of their child? It is not as if all of these kids are a year shy of 18. These children have been traumatized. Now our military, is given babysitting duty. Do you believe that they are happy to do so? (All rhetorical questions.) The thing is... people are attempting to justify this crisis through emotion rather than logic. Simply stated...child neglect is unlawful. It should not be rewarded. This is strictly my personal opinion. I need not debate. I merely share these thoughts for those who may not have considered the realistic negative consequences of the current crisis. Because, it is definitely a crisis, for everyone involved. And as current members of society....that includes all of us. Positive vibes to all. Xx #carryonfrank #burntbliss #everythingsginger
