As I sit here thinking about this weekend and having just booked another school book reading I wonder about how amazed people are when you say something is free. In this day and age of everyone carrying a camera in the form of a cell phone I cannot see not allowing people to take their own pictures. Most ask and dont believe it when you say they can because the malls and such have trained them pictures are not free and you cannot take them yourself. Seriously I have to admit I would much rather work with my wife taking the photo than both parents and sets of grandparents all saying look at me at the same time but then again letting them DIY means we can simply see the next child when the photos and talking with Santa is done versus the wife having to print and sell pictures or having to have an extra set of hands. Then we get to the school and well I think the teacher I talked to Saturday was in shock and I know the principal this morning may still be. I guess they thought I was going to take money from an already overtaxed public school budget like many others would do. I am not the norm for what I do but I seriously try to do things to make the whole experience the best it can possibly be for everyone even if it makes it more difficult for me or even I lose out on making money because I refuse to compromise on what I see is the right way to do things.
