As I sit here this morning planning the day, Im reminded of my biggest faults and problems that continue to plague me. Namely....I try to do far too much at the same time and end up having all the things suffer loss! For my mind, I tend to want to learn every single thing under the sun...all at the same time. Boy wouldnt that be nice to learn things as fast as it takes to download the information on a computer! Lol Ive always been that way though. When I was in school my plan was to go to college, get a degree in one area, then go back and get another degree, then go back and get another, and another, and another until I was 40 or so years old or I ran out of things I was interested in. And for absolutely no reason either, other than just plain curiosity. I didnt plan on going into a particular field in a job, rather I just wanted to know it all. And, thats not really all that good. Lets look at my brains list of things its currently wanting and trying to learn or re-learn: all things electricity (electrical engineering in short), languages: American sign language, Spanish, Hebrew, Greek, Japanese; computer languages: HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, Javascript, C, C#, C++; web development and design; Drafting (both by hand and CAD), Engine (small and large) repair, and best gardening and healthiest eating and exercise routines. That wouldnt be too too bad, except, imagine trying to take all of those things in class form, all at the same time, and completely learn them ALL in a week or less! That is how my brain tries to work. This is the dangers of the widely praised and hailed multitasking trait that people are so eager to say is necessary in this world. Yet, there are actually bad multitasking practices, such as trying to focus on 20 things at the same exact time, as compared to doing 20 different things, 1 thing at a time before quickly moving to the next thing. The lesson for myself and others? Quit buying into the whole multitasking hype that people try to push onto everyone and instead prioritize...take one thing at a time, and if some things dont get done then take a breath and realize that the world will not end, and perhaps, just perhaps, you werent supposed to do that thing at that time. And dont forget to rest physically, mentally, and spiritually! While time is short and the days are evil and we are to redeem the time, this doesnt mean God wants us to try to cram 2 million jobs and callings, and needs, into one member of the Body of Christ to be done in 1 months time. Rest in God, do what God has said to do, and trust that the Lord will take care of the rest...and He will---many times in ways we couldnt have even imagined! Okay, now all of you need to remember all this!... ...And remind me of it at least once a week! :D Make that once a day! :D :D Love you all and have a blessed day today :)
