As I turn my light off from my book, ready to go to bed, I notice Maddies light still on. Her blood sugars were low all day, then suddenly super high after dance...lots of corrections, but now low again. I know she is up waiting to test again...to make sure it is ok to go to sleep...low is bad, but so is high. Im thinking how grateful I am to have my days with her now. At lunch as she was scraping the last bit of queso and I was telling her that is not how to act on a date...she told me that would actually be a good test to know if they liked the real her. She might seem quiet and shy to those who dont know her well, but she is amazing and strong and comfortable with who she is and I love that about her. We are more than getting by. But my heart is breaking for my friends that are going through very difficult times now. It isnt right and it isnt fair. Still I believe God is good. I must, because that is where I immediately go when I just cant take any more heartache.
