As I wake up this morning, Im still on cloud 9 about my engagement, but let me take a moment and list ALL of the ways that God has been good to me in this situation... 1- Just two years ago Carl A Roberts and I werent on speaking terms unless it was about our son. You see, what I didnt realize at the time was that God had serious work to do in both of us and he needed us to be apart for that to happen. Since that time, God has slowly but surely restored our relationship, our appreciation for one another, our friendship, and our belief in the family unit. While I feel like Ive waited a lifetime for this moment with this man, I know that Gods timing is so perfect! Not only did I get the most perfect proposal (which I will mention later), but I got it from my love, my homie, my bug-out partner, my ride or die, my business partner etc. etc. Trust me when I tell you...GOD DID THAT! The proposal...Everyone who knows me knows that family is one of the most important things to me. Last night, what I thought was going to be a small family gathering at one of our favorite VA restaurants that holds so many memories for so many of us, I witnessed family member after family member stroll in like it was just another day, everyone so cool and casual and from both sides (his and mine), having a ball together ....I was just so happy to have everyone together that my heart was overjoyed...and this was before the proposal. I am oh so blessed to be a part of two such loving and fun families! ....but to have them all present and supporting in this moment means the world to me! I am without words! There are way too many family members to tag, but I love you all beyond measure! Finally....I have four women in my life that have been my A1s. Each of them hold a special place in my heart and each of them knows my various levels of turn-up and spirituality, (yes, I did list them right next to each other lol)...we have shared and supported one another through all sorts of life experiences and I am so blessed that all three of them were present to share in this life moment with me and I cant be more thankful for them loving on me the way that they do! Liene Williams- Hawkins Carlene Spirit Roberts Christine Romero-Carrington Eun Hwa Dill I know this post is long-winded, but thank you for letting me have this moment...the bottom line is, this post is more than a recap of my engagement moment....this post is a testament to the fact that no matter what you are seeing in your life at the present moment, understand that God is, was and always will be in control. His ways are not your ways and his time is not your time. Understand that when you ask him to work it out, you must trust that he is, even when it looks like hes doing exactly the opposite of what you thought that outcome might look like. God is so good! #beblessed
