As I was at the gym today, doing my after weekend service workout. I was listening to the Window to the Magic Audio Podcast, which is an audio podcast that surrounds you with the sounds of walking through the Disneyland Resort. And as I was listening to the host of that podcast walk into the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction, I was reminded of one of the best experience that I had in there. It was about 3 years ago when I went with my cousins, Tim and Tricia, for their kids first experience at Disneyland. It was the very first attraction that Ali, my cousin which I consider more as my niece, had ever experience. While we were all experiencing the attraction, I would occasionally look over in her direction and watch her soak in every moment. When the attraction was finished, we looked over at her to see what she thought of it, and tears were streaming down her face. We asked her “what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Thinking that maybe the loud explosions from the sounds of the civil war scared her. She just looked at us and said, “I’m not sad, that was so beautiful.” While we have fun at places like Disneyland, the best moments come when you witness someone else’s first experience. By the way their son Sean, while he did enjoy the attraction, he wanted to go back and ride his favorite ride, The Toy Story Mania bus that brought us to the park.
