As I was driving home on Chinoe this afternoon I spotted an elderly man walking, and then suddenly veer off the sidewalk to slump over against a tree. I immediately pulled over to check on him. He told me that he has Parkinsons and was trying to balance himself to avoid falling. After standing there with him for a few min. (while also looking for signs of a heart attack or stroke) he still wasnt steady enough, and I didnt feel comfortable leaving him. I then offered him a ride home or to call someone. He agreed to let me drive him home, which was only a few blocks away. I helped him to his front door as he thanked me. But, then he also informed me before I left, that I ran a red light (it was still yellow, but, whatever) and that I drive too fast..... As I drove away I was thinking: You needed help. I gave you a ride. And now youre going to criticize my driving? What the heck? So no more good deeds for me. Thats it. Im done. Just kidding😉 Hes probably right. But I thought that it was a little strange that he felt the need to point that out.
