As I was getting ready today and putting on my cowboy outfit for the stagecoach tonight I couldnt help but think back to my younger days when we first moved to El Dorado County in 1964. When we first moved El Dorado County we moved to Pollock Pines briefly while the ranch house was being built. We raised black Angus cattle for beef. During the time while living in Pollock Pines I remember the chainsaws cutting down trees making way for the new freeway to being built. Back then the freeway went right through Pollock Pines. Some of you who I went to school at Camino elementary may remember these things. But I couldnt help find ironic and to me cool is that all my life I have been a western man, even as a kid the west was in my heart. I believe though that my fellow schoolmates thought I was a little odd back then. I found these old pictures and I thought Id share them with you.
