As I was leaving Wal-Mart a man approached me asking for help. He told me his story and how he ended up where he was. I have no idea if he was telling the truth or just some story to get free stuff, but I dont care either. I just want to help people, even if they are scam artists. I told him i wasnt going to give him money but Id take him into Wal-Mart and buy him the supplies he needs. So we went in and he got bug spray and a meal. lol. I asked him if he had a plan to get off the streets. He said if he could get enough money then he was gonna go to some pawn shops and try to find a cheap lawn mower where he could start mowing grass to make a little money and then go from there. I gave him my number and told him to call me in a couple days if he was still around and hadnt got the money for a lawn mower yet and wed go see what we could find. Its so easy to get so wrapped up in your own little life and problems that you forget who you really are and what youre here for. Were not here for our own comfort. Were here to do work. Its not about everything being the way we want it or what makes us happy, its about being the hands and feet of Jesus to a lost world. And the craziest thing is that when you make that your focus you ARE happy. He who loses His life for my sake will find it. Dont let the little distractions that life sends your way make you forget who you are or why youre here. Live for something greater than your own small dreams and ideas. Dont get lost! Keep your eyes on the prize and keep pressing forward! That is where youll find true life, excitement, and fulfillment!
