As I was watching footage celebrating the 25th anniversary of the coming down of the Berlin Wall I was filled with a plethora of emotions and memories. Wonder: that I would be able to witness such a pivotal historical event. Joy: for the people and their new freedom. Sadness: at the thousands of lives lost there searching for that freedom. HORROR: witnessing so many people pounding on hardened concrete using sledge hammers and not wearing safety glasses.
