As I was wondering and researched what other hymns did Ambrose of Milan had written (new to me that he even had written any) learned, that according to tradition Ignatius, c.-109, was the first to introduce responsive singing into the service of the Church. This is a hymn by Ambrose of Milan we used today in our worship service. Below will post the Latin and chant version as sung in early church.
