As I watch the cold November rain/sleet/snow outside of my window on this Veterans Day, I recall all of my fellow veterans - especially those that I know and love - from Ed, who was brutally held as a POW in Korea after enduring insufferable fighting and bloodshed, to Paul, who is a veteran of WWII, Korea AND Vietnam, to my own dear father, Eddie, who was drafted and never left the states (but is a veteran of the Cold War nonetheless), to Eric, my first cousin who served proudly in the Navy in Iraq and other fun places, to Billy, who I proudly served with in Afghanistan and who still serves in the Regular Army, to those two fellow soldiers we lost in Afghanistan that bloody September day in Kabul (and to all who gave the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts on land and air and sea in defense of our freedoms) - and of course Romae (still serving) and Valentin and so many others that I served with in Frankfurt, Germany ... I cannot name everyone for fear of leaving someone out - but I truly love you all. All gave some ... some gave all ...
